Adsense Update

I know it’s terrible, but because of my excitement I just had to update you on my progress with Google adsense.  If you are not aware of how I became approved, then you can read my first blog about this subject by clicking here.

So why am I excited?  Well someone has just clicked on one of my ads, and, I have just earned the princely sum of 10p (£0.10).  This has been achieved 17 days after my account went live.  I know I am being way over the top but it is just unbelievable.  Unfortunately the bad news and the actual reality is that at the speed I have earned 10p it will take 1700 days to make up the £10.00 amount required to withdraw the funds (the minimum amount google require)!  This equates to 4 years 237 days!  Still at least it gives me something to aim for!  The other bizarre thing is that the person who clicked on the ad was actually registered in Australia.  Given that most of my posts are UK based, it must have been some ex-pat being homesick.

I only have myself to blame.  I do not in reality get very many clicks on my blog posts; in fact most days are zero.  This can only be down to the content, and, the fact that people find it so boring.  I need to compose some more exciting, and, racy posts.

One strange thing which has happened is that in my adsense account under “my ads”, I created several different styles of ad to incorporate onto my blog postings.  For some reason these now seem to have disappeared.  This makes me to wonder whether they are still in fact appearing on my posts.

Anyway there you have it.  It’s odd that it is the little things that make you smile.  In this case 10p was worth a fortune.

Thank you.

Oh, and, just one last thing that I have noticed.  On the account it does say estimated earnings, so the 10p may just be hypothetical.
